Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are said to be worth face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they strictly appear as the two hands to be played).
Two hands of 2 cards will now be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 gives a tally of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘1′).
A third card could be given depending on the following regulations:
- If the player or banker has a value of 8 or 9, then both bettors stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays 8 to one and sometimes nine to one. (This is a bad wager as ties occur lower than one every 10 hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. However odds are especially better – nine to 1 vs. eight to 1)
Played properly, baccarat presents fairly good odds, away from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Staying abreast of old results on a chart is a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most established and probably most successful tactic is the 1-3-2-6 scheme. This method is used to accentuate earnings and reducing risk.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth gamble.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
