Baccarat Policies and Strategy

Baccarat Banque Policies

Baccarat is wagered on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are counted at their printed value while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two cards are dealt to both the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The total for each hand is the sum of the cards, although the first number is discarded. e.g., a hand of 5 and six has a total of 1 (5 plus six equals eleven; ditch the initial ‘one’).

A third card could be dealt depending on the following rules:

- If the gambler or banker gets a total of 8 or 9, the two players hold.

- If the player has five or lower, he hits. Players otherwise hold.

- If the player holds, the banker takes a card on a total less than five. If the player hits, a table is employed to determine if the bank holds or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The larger of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the house payout 19 to 20 (equal money minus a five percent rake. The Rake is kept track of and paid off when you depart the game so make sure you still have cash left just before you leave). Winning wagers on the gambler pays out at 1:1. Winning wagers for tie typically pay 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a poor bet as ties happen less than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be wary of putting money on a tie. However odds are astonishingly greater for nine to one vs. 8 to 1)

Wagered on correctly baccarat offers pretty good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Banque Course of Action

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has some general misconceptions. One of which is close to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of future outcomes. Keeping score of past outcomes on a chart is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that was cut down for our stationary needs.

The most familiar and almost certainly the most favorable plan is the one, three, two, six plan. This plan is used to maximize earnings and minimizing losses.

Begin by betting one chip. If you succeed, add one more to the 2 on the game table for a sum total of 3 units on the second bet. If you succeed you will retain 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you are left with two on the 3rd bet. Should you come away with a win on the third round, put down 2 on the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the first wager, you take a hit of one. A profit on the 1st wager followed by a loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd provides you with a gain of 2. And success on the 1st 3 with a defeat on the fourth means you break even. Succeeding at all 4 wagers leaves you with 12, a gain of ten. This means you will be able to lose the 2nd wager 5 instances for every favorable streak of 4 rounds and still balance the books.
