Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards of a value less than ten are give a value of their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they purely appear as the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For e.g., a hand of seven … 5 has a total of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card can be given out depending on the foll. standards:

- If the player or banker has a total of 8 or 9, both bettors stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie customarily pay 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a bad bet as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. Run away from betting on a tie. However odds are significantly better – nine to 1 versus 8 to 1)

When played effectively, baccarat provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future actions. Tracking of prior results on a chart is definitely a complete waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and probably most successful tactic is the one-three-two-six method. This technique is used to build up profits and limiting risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
