Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards that are valued less than ten are valued at their printed value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they only represent the 2 hands to be given out).
2 hands of two cards are then played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the very first digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of 7 … five has a total of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card could be played depending on the following codes:
- If the bettor or banker has a score of eight or 9, both gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie as a rule pays 8 to one but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid betting on a tie. Nevertheless odds are especially better – nine to 1 versus 8 to one)
When played correctly, baccarat offers fairly decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future actions. Keeping track of historic conclusions on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most common and feasibly most successful method is the 1-3-two-six concept. This schema is deployed to boost wins and controlling risk.
start by betting one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the first bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
