Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued under 10 are counted at face value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they merely represent the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for each hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of 7 as well as five will have a total of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be played depending on the following protocols:

- If the gambler or banker has a tally of eight or nine, both players stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores is the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have funds left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie usually pay out 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to one. (This is not a good wager as ties occur less than one every ten hands. be cautious of placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are generously better – nine to one versus 8 to one)

When done properly, baccarat provides fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future outcomes. Staying abreast of last results on a chart is a total waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and almost certainly most successful tactic is the 1-3-two-six technique. This schema is used to amplify payouts and cutting back risk.

Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum of six on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
