Baccarat Policies and Strategy

Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at face value while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand is the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st number is discarded. For example, a hand of 5 and 6 has a value of 1 (5 plus six = eleven; drop the first ‘one’).

A third card might be given out depending on the rules below:

- If the player or banker achieves a value of eight or nine, the two players stand.

- If the player has less than 5, he hits. Players holds otherwise.

- If the gambler holds, the house hits on 5 or less. If the gambler takes a card, a chart is employed to see if the house holds or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The larger of the two totals wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out nineteen to Twenty (even money minus a five percent rake. The Rake is tracked and cleared out once you leave the table so make sure you have money left over before you leave). Winning wagers on the gambler pay one to one. Winning bets for tie typically pays 8 to 1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a bad wager as ties occur lower than 1 in every ten hands. Avoid gambling on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for 9 to 1 versus eight to one)

Bet on properly baccarat gives fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Strategy

As with all games Baccarat has a few established false impressions. One of which is similar to a misconception in roulette. The past isn’t a fore-teller of future events. Keeping score of previous results at a table is a bad use of paper and an affront to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary desires.

The most familiar and probably the most acknowledged scheme is the one-three-two-six tactic. This method is employed to pump up winnings and limit risk.

Start by placing one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the game table for a sum total of 3 dollars on the second bet. Should you succeed you will hold six on the table, pull off four so you have two on the 3rd wager. Should you succeed on the 3rd bet, put down two to the four on the table for a total of six on the fourth round.

If you don’t win on the first round, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the 1st round followed by a loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the initial 2 with a defeat on the 3rd provides you with a gain of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th means you are even. Winning all 4 wagers gives you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you are able to squander the second bet 5 times for each favorable streak of four rounds and still balance the books.
