Punto Banco Rules and Strategy

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Principles

Punto banco is enjoyed with eight decks in a shoe. Cards below 10 are counted at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The value for every hand is the total of the cards, although the first number is ignored. e.g., a hand of 5 and 6 has a value of 1 (5 plus six = 11; dump the first ‘one’).

A additional card might be given based on the following rules:

- If the gambler or house has a value of 8 or 9, both players hold.

- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. Players holds otherwise.

- If the player stays, the banker takes a card on 5 or less. If the player hits, a guide is used to decide if the house stands or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the bank payout 19:20 (even money less a five percent rake. Commission are recorded and cleared out when you depart the game so be sure to still have funds remaining just before you depart). Winning bets on the gambler pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for a tie typically pay 8:1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs lower than one in every ten rounds. Avoid betting on a tie. However odds are substantially better for nine to one vs. 8:1)

Bet on correctly baccarat gives pretty good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Method

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has quite a few established false impressions. One of which is similar to a myth in roulette. The past isn’t a prophecy of future events. Recording past results on a sheet of paper is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our paper desires.

The most established and likely the most accomplished method is the one, three, two, six tactic. This plan is employed to pump up profits and limit risk.

Start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the game table for a sum of 3 chips on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you are left with 2 on the third bet. Should you win the 3rd wager, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the first bet followed by a hit on the 2nd causes a hit of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a defeat on the 3rd gives you with a take of 2. And success on the 1st three with a hit on the 4th means you balance the books. Winning all four wagers gives you with twelve, a take of 10. This means you can not win on the 2nd round 5 instances for each successful run of four wagers and still experience no loss.
