Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than ten are give a value of their printed number while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they merely symbolize the two hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the initial digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 … 5 will have a score of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be given out depending on the following guidelines:

- If the player or banker has a tally of eight or nine, each bettors stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart is used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Victorious wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so ensure that you have cash remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays out at eight to 1 and on occasion nine to 1. (This is a crazy bet as ties happen lower than one every 10 hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are certainly better – 9 to one versus eight to 1)

Played accurately, baccarat presents pretty decent odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. 1 of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way a predictor of future actions. Keeping track of last outcomes on a chart is a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-3-2-six method. This process is used to pump up wins and minimizing risk.

start by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
