Baccarat Rules

Punto banco is bet on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are counted at face value and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The score for each hand is the sum total of the cards, although the 1st number is ignored. For example, a hand of 5 and six has a score of one (five plus 6 equals 11; ditch the 1st ‘1′).

A additional card will be dealt using the following rules:

- If the player or house has a total of eight or 9, the two players stay.

- If the player has less than 5, he takes a card. Players otherwise hold.

- If the player stays, the bank takes a card on a value less than 5. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to decide if the banker holds or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 totals wins. Winning bets on the house pay out 19:20 (equal cash minus a 5 percent rake. Commission are recorded and cleared out once you leave the game so make sure you still have cash left just before you quit). Winning wagers on the player pay one to one. Winning wagers for a tie normally pay 8:1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a poor bet as a tie occurs lower than one in every 10 rounds. Be wary of betting on a tie. However odds are astonishingly greater for 9:1 vs. 8 to 1)

Played correctly punto banco provides relatively decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Punto Banco Strategy

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has some accepted misconceptions. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past is not an indicator of events yet to happen. Recording previous outcomes at a table is a bad use of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our stationary desires.

The most established and almost certainly the most accomplished plan is the 1-3-2-6 method. This tactic is deployed to maximize winnings and limit risk.

Begin by betting 1 dollar. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the table for a sum of 3 units on the second bet. If you win you will retain six on the game table, take away 4 so you keep 2 on the third round. Should you come away with a win on the third round, add two on the four on the table for a total of six on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a hit of one. A win on the initial bet followed by a hit on the second brings about a hit of 2. Wins on the initial two with a hit on the third provides you with a profit of two. And wins on the 1st three with a hit on the 4th means you break even. Winning at all four rounds gives you with twelve, a take of ten. This means you will be able to not win on the 2nd round five instances for each favorable run of four bets and still are even.
