Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards with less than a value of 10 are counted at their printed number whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they merely depict the 2 hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven as well as 5 produces a total score of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card may be given depending on the foll. protocols:

- If the player or banker has a tally of eight or nine, then both players stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart is used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores is the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have money left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie generally pays eight to 1 but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are substantially better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to one)

When done smartly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is never actually an indicator of future results. Staying abreast of prior conclusions on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and feasibly most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-6 scheme. This schema is deployed to increase winnings and reducing risk.

commence by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
