Baccarat Rules

Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under ten are said to be at face value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just portray the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven and 5 gives a score of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be given depending on the foll. protocols:

- If the gambler or banker has a score of eight or nine, the two gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays out at eight to 1 but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is not a good bet as ties happen less than 1 every ten hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are considerably better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

When done effectively, baccarat presents fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually a predictor of future events. Staying abreast of prior conclusions on a chart is simply a waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most common and almost certainly most successful technique is the 1-3-2-six technique. This schema is employed to maximize payouts and lowering risk.

commence by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Thus you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
